So, I'm trying to upgrade my BD set and am looking for suggestions. I've got 900 HP, 700 strength, and 300 defence. Here are the BD weapons that I currently have :
Sword of Skardsen
Pirate Captains Cutlass
Ghostkerbomb
Ghostkershield
H4000 Helmet
Winged Scarab
Downsize!
Ring of the Lost
Bag of Healing Dust
I have about 15 mil in the bank to spend and could scrounge up another 5 mil or so more by selling off some stuff (if need be). So, yeah. That's the deal. I don't have enough NP to upgrade to the next level offensive weapon and since my low defence boost limits me in that element of battling, I'm really not sure what to do. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
So with only 20mil , even if you sell off your bag of healing dust , you won't have enough for a full healer (LEV)
Also you don't need icon defender.
So this is my suggestion
Sword of Skardsen
Pirate Captains Cutlass
Ghostkerbomb
Ghostkershield (Sell for 7m)->
Triple Turbo Dryer (16m, haggle if possible)
H4000 Helmet (Sell for 7m)->
Sleep Ray(9.5m , haggle if possible)
Winged Scarab
Downsize!
Ring of the Lost (Sell for 5m)->
Ultimate Dark Reflectorb(13m, haggle if possible)
Bag of Healing Dust
You will have 15m + 7m + 7m +5m - 9.5m - 16m - 13m= -4.5m (So you need to haggle and sell items^^)
After these, the steps are the peas , T-Tear and LEV...
Firstly, suggest training your pet's defence to 700 as well.
As for your set, our
Ghostkershield already defends against all dark. Therefore, the
Ring of the Lost isn't that useful in this case.
My set suggestion:
H4000 Helmet
Downsize!
Heavy Blue Tunic/idb]
[idb]Ghostkershield
Bag of Healing Dust
Ghostkerbomb
Sword of Skardsen
Pirate Captains Cutlass
With that set, you have defence against all icons,
Ghostkershield blocks dark, air, earth, light and physical,
Heavy Blue Tunic defends air, water and fire.
As for attack, the
Pirate Captains Cutlass attacks light, physical and air while
Sword of Skardsen attacks dark and physical. Careful if opponent has
Ultimate Dark Reflectorb though.
H4000 Helmet is for freezing for now ONLY. I suggest buying books and boosting intelligence to 1,000. When you do that, sell the
H4000 Helmet since the
Heavy Blue Tunic freezes as well when you get to that stage.
Wilt, you must understand the magnitude of training defense from 300-700. Its not like 7-55 or anything... not only is it much larger, but he has to do it via ninja school/neggs/kitchen quests- horribly more expensive/time consuming. It'd be much more effective to optimise his set for his current stats and wait the ages for him to post again when he has his defense at 700.
When your defense is far outweighted by your strength, defense is not only less effective but as you usually fight people in the same boost as you, there attacks far outweigh your defense anyway. For this reason, the extra money for icon-based shields/dual duties is wasted. Hence- sell your ghostkershield as you should never be using it- ESPECIALLY since you have ring of the loss which i disagree about selling. When he comes up against SoS's he will completely annhilate the opponent using his ring (defensive battling)- the sheer commonfactor of SoS's at high levels (due to the high np/icon ratio) is enough to at least consder a RotL in your set. Rather than adding a Dark Reflectorb, perhaps try to cover his other main weaknesses? That being wind (from Ghostkerswords, SuaP (lolol), Other Cutlasses), Light (Other Cutlasses, Lower NQ2 Insane's), Earth (Pea's) or Physical (All previously mentioned swords). Why not upgrade your Winged Scarab to a Yooyuball Player's Sling? The scarab can still let through some damage (to be exact, 2 * 6.5 * 1 for a cautious and species attack), but the 2mil or so upgrade cost is a viable option to upgrading your set- that's 13 (to 26) damage every time you use it in battle. Im not up this high, so i dont know how important 13 damage is to you, so i will let you decide. Turbo Drier as mentioned before is a nice replacement for your redundant Ghostkershield- good to block the other common icon at this level- wind. Any other reflectors as your preferance/lucky tinge as to what you expect to come up against (obiously cutlasses/sos's moreso than others, which is why i reccomend the turbo drier and sling)
<3 Your bag of healing dust, i think they are so cool. Rather than upgrading the rest of your set, save for a full healer! The benefit of this far outweighs anything else i havn't mentioned and many of the things i have! You won't regret it once you get one. Is there a chance of morphing your pet to a species-healer-avaliable one? If in your oppinion the price of the bag of healing dust is falling, sell it now and use a species healer and save the money toward your full-healer.
Anyway, hope i helped.
*edit*
~i forgot to mention, why spend so much more the upgrade the freezer? i mean seriously, The tunic is a "priceless" r99 whos only benefit over the h4k is a 1-turn little defense which his defense stat can't use effectively anyway. Besides your (wilt's) set is flawed, you can't equip both a h4k and heavy blue tunic anyway (2 freezers [potentially]).
The sleep ray option is a 2.5 million upgrade for a mere 4 icons. Can i say overspend? Not only does he need to save for a full healer, but the cost effectiveness of this upgrade is appaling.
WiltChamberlain13 Wrote:How I see it is that if you train to 700 defence, you should use Ghostkershield instead of Ring of the Lost. They both block all dark but the Ghostkershield does extra defending for you.
However, as i said earlier, that requires a *ton* of effort

. Besides the RotL isn't only for defending, it can attack with a moderately powerful punch (however vulnerable to the increasingly popular clawed shield, its only a backup to his mains and a defender)
Yeah, Wilt, I don't think you get how long it's gonna take and how much NP it'll cost to train 400 points of defence when he's level 450. Pets with levels that high can only train at the ninja training school, and he'd have to pay three red codestones and wait 8 hours per point. That's 133 days alone (assuming he trained every 8 hours and didn't turn down the courses with crazy-unbuyable stones, which would block him from training for 24-hour periods), and tons of NP.
I don't think I have anything to add... I like rylix's suggestions of the sling and some kind of air defence. Keep the RotL and sell the Gshield, for sure.
I don't have much too add, but with 900 HP, if you are a 1p battler, consider getting a Slumberberry Potion. You do have a large budget and not really many other worthy upgrades are out there that aren't way, way more expensive.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I forgot to add that I'm not much of a 2-p battler right now, so I'm looking to make my set ready for wor(if we ever get one again).
Regarding the G-shield/RoTL combo, I use RoTL most often, but will use the G-shield if my HP gets low (just a few blocked icons can save your tail). I also like to keep the shield just incase it is retired.
As for my defence, it won't be going up much any time soon. I still use the lab ray for the HP, and the k-quests I do usually don't do much more than just make up for the defence losses from the lab.
I have considered getting a S-Pot and upgrading the scarab to the yooyu sling. Those are probably two things that I will do. I'll also look into the reflectors (TTD, UDR, etc.).
One more question: For the future, what should I plan to do first? Upgrade to full healer or get a t-tear?
I would get a T-tear first, and then when you ahve enough upgrade the tear+BohD to a full healer. Then save up more for the t-tear again
you might also want to consider a pirate captains hat, which might be useful against many weapons if you encounter earth/light in 1p...I find there is no need for reflectors since you already ahve the 700 boost and usually you will only be able to reflect 75% of the icons coming at you.
