National Novel Writing Month- the basic idea is to start writing a novel on November 1st, and have 50000 words of it written by November 30th.
Sign ups are supposed to start today (but they havent yet), so now is the time to start thinking of a plot before you start.
Anyone going to try it? I might, though it depends on what else I've got going on. Apparently you have to write about 1500 words a day to be able to make it, and thats a fair amount of writing.

Actually, it's something like 1667 words per day to be more accurate.

Which gets you to about 50010 and by the end of November. It's not actually that long - it's a little over a page in a Word document. I can write most character profiles at about that length.
But I'm going ahead with it.

I've been planning since August for this, and I really want to do it. And even if you don't finish it, at least you'll have participated.

I gave up last year. After like... the first day. I'm pathetic.
This is going to be fun, I'm definitely going to join this.
I think if I can struggle past the first week, and don't get buried with homework and stuff, I can probably get this done.
Sign ups have started, on the main site click the top right corner options.
Good luck ^^
Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress throughout the month, and it would be cool if you guys posted some excerpts and stuff for us to read.

I totally missed this last year!

I'm definatly going to participate this year. ^__^
If I get anything worth posting done, I might post a few bits.

Ooh... I heard about this last year, but didn't sign up. I'll participate this year, even though I prefer writing poems. I'ma see if any of my FictionPress writing budies joined

For anyone who's interested, the event starts THIS WEDNESDAY. If you're iterested I suggest you sign up as soon as possible, and get any plans you have for your plots written down so you can refer to them when you need them.
I have one character planned and some vague plot points. I better get brainstorming!

Wow, that sounds real interesting!!
