ok i am just double checking... typically if i am preparing a pet for a war the str def and hps should equal 200 or less ? also whats the best recommended configuration wise more str ?( my pet has the abilities )so you can beserk ? i realize the details of the plot and war are a ways off but i want to be prepared this time since it is war this time FINALLY !!

the 200 total stas was used only once, i doubt they will do the same mistake this time.

Anyway fi you want to try the sum 200 rule i would say the better path of action is 1)get lab ray acces; 2)hoard codestones and Terror Trove Scrathcard (to level up); 3)and train to maximize the sum of 199 (if you get a nice Faerie quest keep it "on hold") according with your tastes (i would train hp and att only).
Kee in mind that you should train on diferents ways (thats why i said lab, codestones scrathcards and finally the kitchen quest.
But that may trash a good saving training plan

The 200 rule was str+hp only, I believe, so the people with the 85 boost and around 100 hit points were in the best position at the top of rank 1. However, that war was so universally detested that I can't see them doing one like that again. I believe they've been creating all these new cheap 7-9-iconers and shields and stuff in an attempt to make it easier for newer, poorer Neopians to get into battling (and it works; you can have a fairly decent set for 200k nowadays thanks to weapons like
enchanted wooden bow,
earth faerie slingshot,
earth faerie bow, and the stone and ice clubs). Hopefully they'll think that's enough and won't use the rank system in future wars.
That said, we have no confirmation and no proof that the next event will be a war. That's the rumor, but no one on staff has said anything about it. So don't go too crazy yet.
thnx fer the input everyone. very true there is no confirmed details yet so at this point there is no way to know for sure. sorry if i seem a bit eager i am just still mad at myself for missing the hand cannon :/ but to my credit i was brand new playing neo then. anyways its true i am being hopeful and maybe it wont be a war at all... i wish they would stop with all the stupid mini plots that go nowhere ! (that stupid telescope thing was a complete rip off they got better prizes for a 5 question quiz i spent weeks on that one) and fix the battledome up some and make some more abilities work cant nps see thats the main thing ppl like and want worked on
I played Neopets for more than 2 years but still yet compete in a war.If i'm right,when I just started playing for few months,there's the Maraqua War,but I don't know what's going on so I didn't join.Then,it was just plot,plot,plot...wonder when will be a war...

I was hacked aobut a week before that war, and this was before one could protect themselves with PIN codes. I went into battle with a friends old lab pet and dual "Shaken Up Can of Neocola" because I couldn't afford anything better with decent damage output. Random weapons are fun.
