the client isn't one that loads updates into itself? The update would be smaller? You mean I'd have to install a completely new client each update.... sounds like I shouldn't be interested just to figure out what the rest of you are talking about, free or not.
At each update you download and install a patch to update it. These vary in size, sometimes over 100 MB for a good one.
well, I could torrent the original, and then handle the patches easily enough, so I'll just have to poke around the website and hope for an official torrent file
It does download just the update and add it in, but it doesn't work when there is more than one patch to download, as I recall. Unless you were to be able to get the client from a stable file that didn't change to the patched client as soon as it was out, and downloaded the manual patcher for each new patch, you could do it.

Or you can find a way to get the whole thing much quicker.
