Planning for my Mage's 2nd job advancement, is it possible to switch magic classes for the third job advancement?

If so, can I become a Cleric (for Heal, Invincible, and Bless) after the 2nd advancement, a Fire/Poison Mage (for the 70% fire Partial Resistance) after the 3rd advancement, and a Ice/Lightning Arch Mage after the 4th?

It seems as if Bandits can switch to Assassins (Ban-sins?), but I'm not quite sure if Mages can do the same... Thanks for your time.
Bandits never able to switch to sins. banditsin means a bandit uses stars in 1st job (rogue) to level faster as daggers are weak in 1st job.

So clerics can not change to Mage, they have to be priests.

However in 4th job (which is still in beta test in kms), all kind of magicians get a powerful magic energy-explosion skill which deals massive damage(around 20k). However it is very slow.
As anson said, you stay on the same line for all the game, because you might still using some skills of the second job in the third, like many warriors and thieves.
If you're wanting 70% Partial Resistance to fire, Clerics do get Elemental Resistance in the 3rd job, which gives a 50% resistance to fire and all other element-based magic attacks.

Also, the majority of 3rd job ice/lit and fire/poison mages do NOT max Partial Resistance.

Thanks. I only wanted the Partial Resistance from Fire/Poison so I would have an easier time with Ice/Lightning once the 4th job advancement is released. I guess this isn't allowed, as any class may become too powerful selecting the unique skills of each type.

I'll stay on Ice/Lightning, as my character's name has "Arctic" in it...

Edit: Please lock...
Oh, BTW, There is no "Ice/Lightning Arch Mage" If I recall correctly, F/P and I/L merge into one "Arch Mage"

I'm pretty sure that's not true.
