When going to turn on my lovely altadorian sidebar I noticed there's a qasalian one too... it definatly wasn't there last time i checked [just after the maraquan one was released] so does anyone know why i have it?

Maybe you played pyramids during the clues, of the lost desert plot, were given. (one clue was given there, it said on which door look)

I got that sidebar that way... so may want to check the shop of LDP, i think you can buy a keychain.

You have a sand mite trophy in your lookup, so I guess you completed a tiny bit of the Lost Desert Plot... that's why you have the sidebar.

Edit: Yes, your stats page says you completed a game of pyramids and got the parchment piece.
