I personally feel that the weapons are too expensive to have them considered as real weaponry. I can understand the RotL price, and would even pay slightly more for it cos to me, it is a weapon and it is an investment. But for 6 icons worth of attack and a defence that Winged Scarab could take care of (although at a lesser effect)? An investment, perhaps, but not attractive enough for me to think of it as formidable.

most likely they did it like this because
A.The Altador plot was just a part of the Cyodrakes Gaze plot and the prizes will be released with the end of the Cyodrakes Gaze plot
B.TNT is a legend for being lazy so the Altador Cup prizes were easier to calculate so were released first
C.They are still figuring out what the prizes would be since it was overly easy

Currently, there is no Altador stamp avatar, so the inflation of the Stamp in the future certainly won't be as high as inflation from the retired avatar stamps. However, people will constantly use the stamps, causing them to disappear, while the Guard can be re-used. In the near future, the Guard should inflate higher because it is a rarer item. However, the Stamp and Book will eventually catch up, and beat the price of the Guard. At that time, then again, all of the times would most likely be terribly rare and with the prices all at hundreds of millions, it probably won't even matter.
Edit: Choose the one that will benefit you most. Would you rather have a weapon that may be useful from time to time, or would you rather have something sitting in your SDB?

You shouldn't regret it. Ultimately, any prize you get out of those points is gonna go up in price eventually so you've nothing to lose.

I need advice, should I get the Sling or something else? Is the sling worth it? And IF its good to get then should I sell it or keep it?

The sling to me is worth as an investment. Fetches you plenty of neopoints. I would personally wait a while and then sell it off. The attack is weak. The physical defence may seem nice but i seriously would rather go for Winged Scarab or something over this.
Whatever the case maybe, you can't go wrong. They will all rise in price eventually anyway.

I would definately go for the sling, I don't think there were many people that got over 10k points so I would expect the sling to substantialy rise in value
