um I don't like the fact that people can rep you negatively for no reason
I think if we could rep mods it would have to require that we where atleast 6 months old account age, or a signifigent level of posts.
This way we had to have some kind of understanding and baceline before being able to rep a mod.
If that's not possible, then not being able to rep mods is the only other logical choise.
This only works though if negitive rep has no side effects. If negitive rep has any side effects then it never makes sence to let a mod be reped by anybody who isn't atleast a mod.
We should also know who gave us negative points.
Then at least I would be able to work out why I have a negative rep

Yeah, I second that...rather, I dislike that someone can give you negative rep when you didn't do anything wrong. Someone gave me negative rep on a post with the comment 'Spam'. I looked at the post...and at the rules for that forum...and at the post...and there is no logical way it was spam. Oh well.
It'd be nice if you could only give positive rep, so no one could give negative rep out of spite. Then again, negative rep makes sense for people who break forum rules, or are rude, or stuff like that. Ah well, the people using the system the right way seem to outnumber the odd ones
I received a - from a moderator for posting my lab result on the yehaaw thread, with the message lucky. Kinda sad that moderators abuse this system
My advice: Don't pay attention to rep. No one can abuse the system if they aren't breaking any rules...

I agree with that, it is just a way to make the forum slightly more interesting, it doesn't matter anywayz, if you know you didn't do anything wrong, or didn't spam or whatever.
It's also likely that the reputation system will be turned public in the future (the newest version of MyBB features this), so I advise everyone to keep that in mind when leaving reputation.
Do you mean public as in everyone can see who reps who and for what reason?
From the MyBB site:
You can now only give a reputation to a user once but you can in the future edit or update your reputation of that user. Reputations are also publicly displayed (limits abuse)
That's all I know.
Omg... Someone gave me a negative rep that says "spam... when will you ever learn?" in a thread where post counts have been turned off
