Ok a few days ago. I wokeu p one morning and anything msn related decides to not work on my computer anymore. Apparently I am not alone with this problem and all the solutions I try to find only help with an old problem that was similar but the solutions don't work :S

When I try to sign into msn I get a 800b0001 error code and when I try to instal the new version of msn I get the 1603 error code. I tried to do a system restore but my computer keeps saves restores per month and it was the first when this started. I can't use msn explorer, msn messenger, live messenger and can't even access my hotmail account. It has nothing to do with my account because I have access to all those things on my sisters laptop.

Any help??
well, did you try rebooting your comp and opening msn through your programs. If that doesn't work, deinstall all msn stuff and reinstall it, your account information should be the same. If all that fails, just reinstall it and create a new account. And if that fails....well kick your computer and call it stupid.
So I can kick it and call it stupid them >.<

Hmm I really need msn. I hate using my sisters laptop.
If nothing else works, this probably wont, but you could try googling for the web-based messenger service. It works in your browser, so if it's a program error that won't affect it.

Have you recently installed something, maybe a firewall or some security package, that might have changed or blocked a few files key to MSN?
Web messengers don't work either.

Thats the problem. It happened overnight when my PC was closed. Apparently I am not alone. I just can't find a way to fix it
caused by a windows update?
I don't usually do windows updates. unless they do themselves automaticly...
If worst comes to worst, you can always reformat. Thinking
I fixed it. Some programs stopped running in my computer. I searched what msn needs to make it run and I just made them all run one after the other and after a while msn worked. Thx for the help guys.
