As the new recruits to the DejaVu scramble aboard, they gawk at the state of the vessel. The huge ship looks ancient and appears to be falling apart. The new crew is so distracted by the state of the DejaVu that they almost fail to notice when it moves away from the dock. A few of the wiser crew members try to jump ship before being noticed, but a warning shot stops them.
"Ahoy! Welcome aboard the DejaVu," says Captain Lack matter-of-factly. "And no, ye won't be leaving that way... anyway, if ye try to swim, ye'll likely be eaten by a sea monster, kraken or the like..."
"Err... what? Sea monsters aren't real," interjects Spaz. "Research shows that most sightings of sea monsters are hoaxes or easily explained by common things like ee-"
Bam.
"Now what were ye sayin', laddie?" mumbles the captain as Spaz examines the new hole in his hat. "Beware of sea monsters. Who all do we have here, anyway? Oh well, let's get ye all acquainted with how things go here, if ye wish to survive any length of time ye'll pay attention..."

The all-important rules:

a. Day ends and executions take place at 8 PM NST. This may occur slightly later. Voting ends at 7:55 PM NST, any votes placed after this time will not be counted.
b. To vote, you must post vote: playername in bold. (You can also unvote, should that suit you.) It is possible to vote for no execution. If there a majority of votes (51%) are placed on one player, then that player will be executed at end of Day. If no majority is reached, then the randomizer will decide player's fates for the night. You may vote for up to two players at a time, but two will only be executed if one player has 75%+ and another has a majority.
2. Night: Night ends at 8:30 PM NST. The deadline for all Night lists is 8:15 PM NST. Events will take place in the order that PM's are recieved. You may not vote during Night.
3. Items: Some people may find that they have items. You may not speak of these unused items to anyone unless you are a member of an evil team or these items will disappear. (This is a pirate ship after all.)
4. Dead players: Dead men tell no tales. In fact, dead anythings tell no tales. If you find yourself becoming a dead player, you may only discuss the game in the Groupies (Overboard) thread and cannot post here. As a dead player, you may not discuss any knowledge that is not publicly known, and you may not PM/IM/etc. living players with information regarding the game.
5. Loyalties: Play for your team. If you are on a team, do not reveal yourself to another player without discussing it with your team. Do not reveal your teammates to another player unless they send me written permission in advance.
That's it. Play the game and play it well, and remember that it is a GAME. Lies and betrayal are part of the game and no more than that. You're on your honor to play this well and follow the rules.
