For the summer, I enrolled in
Introduction to Computers with Windows I at my local city/community college. Basically for credits. Who would think that I would need to buy a text book!! A new one is $51 and a used is $38.. Why should I spend so much money on a crap subject like this??
I don't even want to know how much the HTML I course will cost me

At my community college, every class is like that.

It all costs money, no matter how "crappy" it is. I took 4 classes and it costed over $800 so I'd would wager a guess that the class is probably about $150-$200. (though we're in completely different areas)
Windows? lmao, I wouldn't even spend $38 dollars on the course itself...
$38 is pretty cheap for a textbook. Some textbooks go up to the hundreds in some specialized courses. Its hard to see the money go but it may be worth it...
My Calculus book cost $160 + 7% sales tax and was unavailable used....I only got 75 on the sell back

You could check if the library has it, and just keep on renewing the whole time.
That's what I'm doing for my community college course right now since it's only 5.5 weeks long, and I saved $60.

Well since I'm still in HS, tuition is free.. I just pay for textbooks..
Haha, I posted this thread while the teacher was lecturing about "How to Move and Resize Windows"
51/38 is nothing. My brother just finished his first year of community college, and all his books cost $100+.
You can probably resell your book afterwards, anyways.
Borrow the book, and photocopy it. =D
Wowwwww.. School Bookstores are a complete rip-off! Everything sells for HALF-PRICE on Amazon!
but then you have to go through the hassle of is it the right edition and waiting for it to come. And then your college bookstore may not purchase the book back. My books for the past semester cost me about $400 and I was able to sell them back for $37. Man, I love college.
