What does that mean? And why did it happen?
if you refresh too much within a certain period of time, you will see no items in any official Neopian shops. This excludes the Igloo Garage Sale, Pirate Petpets, Smuggler's Cove, Movie Mountain Souvenirs, Lutari Island Shops (via mobile phone), and any shop that you do not have to haggle to purchase an item.

People usually go to Tiki Tack, which usually has at least one item in it, to test if they are RS banned.
a simple tip that helped me get on the high score list as well as to cure my boredom, i BD when i wait for the RS to come. If it comes, juz switch windows, RS and when the RS is over, back to BDome... =D

Now that the new restock system has been implemented, none of that matters anymore. All restocks are random, and each shop has no relationship with every other shop whatsoever.
ahhh ic... drats... TNT is making us really waste our time lol... =D Oh well, I do have an important question... Does any1 have any suggestions on where to RS unbuyable items now? I've been gone for too long and it seems like all the shops mostly stock like items <10k... =( pls pm me with the shop recommendations thanks! =D
i observed that some shops tend to rs at the same time , or at most 10 sec difference .

Such as pharmacy - food , once these 2 rsed , snow food and spooky food follow . this is my exp , but maybe need further confirmation Closedeyes
Restocking is now less "mechanical" - plain and simple. We need to adapt. So what if a new player gets that "Eliv Thade whatever". Good for them!
Neopets needs to make money to keep this all going! So much for Communism.
Unfortunately Neopia is based on Skinnerian psychology. They built it, and the people come, in fact, they had better keep coming. To make sure of that TNT has to make it seem that there is a chance that you will succeed without having to make it your life's obssession. A properly conditioned pigeon will peck forever. A deconditioned pigeon is not good for Neopia.
Unfortunately, some errors were allowed to last too long, and now even a minor tweak is oh so painful.
The site needs new blood, obviously. The economic inequality becomes not fun very quickly, especially for the newbies. Gouging is one of the uglier, darker aspects of mankind, but it is still the fuel that makes Neopians go after that "Candy Skull" and resell it at obscene markups. Its pathetic that people are so conditioned that they just can't say "No! I won't buy it" and maybe the price would start to come down.
The economic structure is still too lopsided, the playing field has been slightly evened, but not enough. They need to go further, but not too fast and alienating the faithful.
Those that claim to be elite restockers, take a deep breath. Most of the world's computers are barely Y2K compliant. Add to that statistic the advantage of broadband over dialup. You're still way ahead of the game.
Neopia is a work in progress. I hope the shop system becomes more competitive instead of exploitative. Even if you play a grand master at chess, you both get the same number of pieces. Its what you do with them that counts.
That rant felt good.
wow. who else here is Singaporean and have Neopian midnight at a convenient 3pm? Big Grin
anyway, i once considered myself a good rser cos i managed to earn ~10-20k a day from rsing at the collectable cards. now i realise that i've managed to grab almost every card i went after because they gave like 100-300NP profit? ^^
being new to rs of course i find the new system better Smile i'm not sure about rs ban, i RS maybe 3h a day max and i've never gotten a rs ban/warning whatever.
anyway just like to ask a question about rs - i'd preiously bought items which i THOUGHT were high profit (cos they released 1 if the item, it was a black/gold collectable card, and asking price was high) only to find i paid WAY too much for it. yet if i check the SW for every single item i want i'd never get it before the pr0z. so do you guys have some sort of item price spreadsheet for the shops you frequent, or are you guys just faster than me?
well, u see buddy, knowing the prices are still the FASTEST way to RS. Refering to a spreadsheet or shop wizzing the price would ensure that u lose to another RSer who knows his stuff. unfortunatley, you'll have to use these two methods to familirize yourself with the prices of the items before u can become a true blue RSer - one who goes for the most expensive item in a restock before the others, irregradless of how much they are stocked or how much they are priced. Basically, it all boils down to one thing - practice, practice and more practice.

Hope that helps. =D
wow gee thanks.
but it was mentioned somewhere that people rotate shops every few months... it takes that fast to remember ur stuff? in collectable cards i've only seen the same high-priced item being stocked the second time once... or are there shops which stock a smaller variety?

EDIT: well i've been trying the pharmacy and i've refreshed every minute or so for almost 2h but haven't seen a high-profit item appearing... what am i doing wrong? =\

You are doing nothing wrong Smile you just need to be patient, the high profit items restock kinda slow.. mostly the items that you dont want always restocks lol.. just sit there for a few more hours and I am sure that a few high profit items will come, just be sure to grab them fast as other restockers sits there and wait too..
ah ok thanks... some positive rep there ^^
