I have a feeling people are going to have fewer wins this round due to a combination of the 5 second rule and people getting really bored of the game (like me)
Much as I love this game, it does get boring. >_> I can score easily, long as it's not faerie then other team gets a free score, but geez...I don't get how people indure 100 wins. It's about 4-5 minutes for one bloody point.
I really wish we got points for our game scores, not just one little point for 4 minutes of work and all you need is just ONE point to get one point overall. I would have hit 100 wins long ago if they'd change it.
Cup is eudurance, that's for sure. I'm getting the feeling KI won't make it. ._.
EDIT: I died at 20 wins...

We still don't know exactly how it's scored, Armi, but the computer is most likely keeping track of goals. TNT said the staff tournament was scored exactly like ours, but on a much smaller scale, and goals counted there (in the case of a tie, the person with the most goals moved on). Also, there's that paragraph on the previous rounds page:
Quote:The Altador Cup Committee bases scores on win/loss/tie record, point scores, individual performance, and a weighted average based on team membership. Translation: A team with more players has no advantage over a team with less players!
It looks like goals do matter. The computer's probably keeping track of a lot of stuff when we score, and people who consistently win 9-0 will be earning more points than those who win 1-0 and then just sit there with their goalie bouncing the ball off the wall and back to himself over and over.
lol, I'm seriosuly getting bored of this game...so bored I somteimes forget to bounce my goalie

and end up losign 9-1, then I accidentally send score

done that 3 times already this round...I tihnk krawk island can win
Also even if we are a larger scale of the staff tourney..the chances of so many people palying and after summing up everyhitng, being a tie, is very small...thus, scores in each game don't really matter since there will virtually be no tie.
Oh, I don't think they're only using our goals in case of a tie, like in the staff tournament. They're probably using them in their score-averaging equation, and will most likely also use them to determine the "best" players (the ones who should get the better prizes) at the end. It makes sense, and we do know from reading that paragraph that they're keeping track.

OK, cause I usually score 8 wins per game, so that's more good to hear. I can't remember if I ever got 9 wins in a game.
I haven't scored a 9 yet -- most I can manage is 7-0. But I haven't lost a game yet (tied once, but didn't bother sending that). I really hope my team (Roo Island) moves on...
I got a couple times where HW got a score cause I hate faerie ball, so I just let them have it and then own them with the other three balls.
Seriously, faerie sucks...you can't rely on it...pure luck.
BTW I actaully hope Roo Island wins on your side, Cran. I don't care which team on HW vs KI win. I like them both, so no loss to me.
I didn't care at all when this started, but after my team made it through rounds 1 and 2, I started to get attached to them... now I'll actually be sad if we lose! I don't want to pick a new team after all this time. But if we do lose, I'm definitely going with the victor from KI/HW. I hate the Darigan team.
I hate the faerie ball, too, but there is an easy way to score with it (or any ball, really), at least with Roo. Not sure if it works with other guys... but anyway, grab the ball and go to the corner of the net, right in front of the goalie. Run straight up or down in front of the net. The goalie will move with you, but you're faster, so you'll get ahead of him and have an open spot of net. Turn and shoot the ball straight in there. You should be so close that it goes in before it can curve. I have to score that way or else we just end up kicking the faerie ball back and forth and I wind up with a 0-0.
the easiest way to score with the faerie ball for me is to be about level with the lower post (or upper post), and face right at it, do not aim at an agle. aim near post, and if it curves the right way its a nearly unblockable curving shot thats best from about halfway from the goal line to midfield
I used to like the Darigan team, but hanging out on the neoboards made me lose respect for the team. I love the artist who drew them, but I kinda don't want to see them win. Really, if Roo Island wins it all, they're the true under dogs of the game cause no one saw them coming.
Really the neoboards have made all the teams look bad.
I'll try your tip on the faerieball. Liek I said, I just give a free point to the other team cause I hate wasting all that time and no one gets a point. Total waste.
