Nobody's exactly sure, but on the previous rounds page, it says this:

Quote:The Altador Cup Committee bases scores on win/loss/tie record, point scores, individual performance, and a weighted average based on team membership. Translation: A team with more players has no advantage over a team with less players!

*grumbles that it should be "fewer," not "less"*

And sirhatter, I'm at 40 wins for Roo this round (I can only stand to play 10 games at a time before I get bored and frustrated and start to yell obscenities at the Lost Desert players). I'm hoping to get another 10 in tonight before the round closes. Have to battle some more in that NCW 1-player tourney first.
I got 300wins 0 lose and 0 tie in round 2... scores of 7 8 or 9 per game..

Wow that's 15 hours of gameplay =O

Anyhow from the editorial:
Quote:I have seen this many times on the boards: players from opposing teams making side accounts, joining the rival team & losing to lessen the score & have the other team win. Is this reportable? ~sfdscheer
Not only is it reportable, it's a freezable offense. No one may participate in the Altador Cup on any other account aside from their main. Sending in bad scores for the other team is not only poor sportsmanship, but is also downright disgraceful to the team they should be representing with honour. (And don't worry, they're really only hurting themselves.) Wink

Hmm.. this can mean that we still get points for losses or that losses don't count toward the team... this throw out meh theory?
im at 40 wins also, if i go up 4-0 or so i just pass it back to my keeper to run down the clock. its not a glorious win per se, but its a win, and i hate giving up goals, which i invariably do because i get sloppy and unfocused on defense. im hoping the algorithm prefers shutouts to just big wins (meaning 4-0 is better than 6-1)
I hope so, too, because I can't get anything higher than 6-0, myself. I've only played two games (out of 50, now) where they've scored on me, both times with that blasted faerie ball.

professorelite, I'm hoping losses either don't count at all, or count for .5 points or 1 point or something. It sounds like they have a pretty complicated scoring system, and they have known about the cheaters all along, so I imagine they've taken all of this stuff into account.

If losses just = 0 points, I'm hoping that if someone joins a team and sends no wins whatsoever (if they don't play at all, or just send losses), they become a non-entity and aren't factored into the "weighted average" of team members/points.
I can't beat 9:0 it seems like the goalie increases to be as fast as the ball itself. I've even seen multiple times the goalie simply jump over me and appear on the other side (I tried to make a goal by blocking the goalie from moving with one player). It just teleports instead of pushing my guy away Blink
ditto here
if i ever do get to 9 goals i definitely just pass it back to the keeper and sit on it... and then do stuff like post in the bd boards advertising my tournament, fold laundry, and look at ikea catalogs for cheapish furniture
yep, I'm in the same camp where I can often get to 9-0 but I haven't found a way to score the 10th goal...

I hope they release how they calculate scores at the end and I will also be curious to see how they calculate individual scores for prizes...
A few people have scored a 10th goal (mostly by lucking into it), but it doesn't count. The most the scoreboard will show is 9-0. It's weird.
well since round 2 is over now we just have to see who made it to the next round.... its interesting how people just score 1 or 2 goals then give the ball to the goalie till the time runs out so they can win.. I find that kinda cheap..

Yeah in real soccer, they have a 5 second rule...they should implement that here too! I find it cheap too but I like it cuz it saves a lot of time...about 2.5 minutes per game! that's quite helpful with the new RS system and all.
