TNT may have fumbled by making a scoring system that overly "equalized" the differences in number for the various teams. I don't blame them... it's very hard to make it fair for uneven teams. The explaination for this may simply because there are relatively few Neopians who really actively played in the AC and those teams with more people actually simply ended up with more inactive newbies by chance which dragged down the average score. Anyohw, I am bitter that Tyrannia lost... spent hours playing... got 31 wins and 0 losses fairly (I submitted my score for every game). Had done tons of practice with Jelly World team... blarg... team Tyrannia had such a nice storyline to go with them.. cared more about the team than themselves. This is the only Neopia event that I've changed my userlook up background for... forgive my ramblings... suppose I should be happy to have gained a few thousand NP from Maraqua's victory last year by being on the right side... This cup is worse than the wars... wars only leave half of Neopia unhappy while this cup will disappoint 15/16ths of Neopia!
Well, you can join a new team if you want to play some more... but yeah, it does suck if you get attached to your team and it gets booted. I'm sorry Tyrannia got kicked out (it was actually one of my possible team picks, too, as my Lupe is Tyrannian)... but like I said, I'm not
too sorry, because I'm a Roo Island girl.

Tried that questionaire and I got Brightvale... makes no sense for me because I'm so anti-cheat... I would have clicked submit had I lost any... perhaps I am the Lupe... sorry about the broken sentences... still disallusioned from Tyrannia's defeat =/

The one member of Brightvale's team who refuses to get involved in the their crooked shenanigans, "Squeaky" (as in "squeaky clean") simply plays hard and sticks to the rules. To the surprise of no one, he's also on the receiving end of countless practical jokes that are perpetrated by his mischievous teammates.
I have no hard feeling that my team did lose out. I joined Krawk island and I can see why my team lost. They were slow compared to the other teams. Pity. I'm still Tyran tillt he end,but I'll support KI until they lose. I get the feeling Darigan will be the winners of it all. Everyone is going to jump to them.
I picked Darigan

Darigan for lyfe
Live by da gun die by da gun

That could hurt them, though, if TNT is indeed weighting scores by number of supporters. Some people suspect that Faerieland had a lot of supporters but many of them didn't send many wins, so they lost by a lot. I asked Mr. Insane, but he wouldn't tell me how scores are calculated or whether losses count.

I think a lot of people will jump to krawk island or mystery island thanks to their high pointage last round
I'm sticking with Haunted Woods unless they lose (if we can swap again) I played three games last round where I lost a game 1 to 0, won a game 2 to 0, and then won another game 3 to 0
Ah, I was right. From the bottom of
this page:
Quote:The Altador Cup Committee bases scores on win/loss/tie record, point scores, individual performance, and a weighted average based on team membership. Translation: A team with more players has no advantage over a team with less players!
So like I suggested earlier, if a lot of bad players join the top teams, they could actually drag them down with their bad win percentages. Hopefully this means my little Roo Island has a fighting chance in the next round!

it says that point totals matter too, so I guess that means you get more points for winning 9-0 then you do for winning 1-0, I wonder if individual scores (and subsequently prizes) will be calculated the same way...

In other words... Meridell and Darigan would consistantly win because that was one of the major wars and created fierce loyalties. Only oldbies who've been around long enough to have been in the war would remember so those two would have disportionately more oldbies.
Other popular teams lost simply because too many inactive people joined them, which dragged down the average score.
Krawk Island beat Altador because the CoM war was more popular and more publicized than the new Altador plot... Maraqua lost to Meridell simply because the Meridell Darigan war created stronger loyalties and was more well known among oldbies. There were also two M+D wars and only one Maraquan war in recent history.
Then again my speculation can be completely invalid because hindsight can make logic where none exists.
