There are a number of you out there which have expensive BD setups... how did you guys make your money? Where did you find it most convenient to make your money, what did you invest in - food, books, medicine, weapons themselves? Im curious because Id like to eventually compete with the stronger pets, but between saving for weapons and training it gets costly, so - how did you rich people make your way to the top?
I used to restock, and I had about 200 of each cheap medicine in my inventory, I cashed out on Magic Cookies and Bubbles Herbal Drink when they went from 200/100 to 6000 each.

Wiz sniping is easy, but you have to have time and be lucky.. but you can make 50k without doing actual work..
I do wiz sniping for codestones when I need training.??Those are probably the easiest to snipe.
I made a lot of NP when World Challenges were new. Back then, you could earn as many pieces as you wanted per day, so it took me just a couple days of playing Volcano Run to earn a full Tyrannia map and sell it for 400k or so (sometimes I'd earn Faerieland as well, which sold for 600k). And it was easy because I'm one of the better people in Neopia at VRun, so all I'd have to do is sail in at 15 minutes to endtime, send one score and win the piece for the highest score. I built up most of my set with NP from WCs.

Nowadays World Challenges are limited to three pieces per day, so I earn and sell those. I've been dabbling in food club a little thanks to sirhatter and his guide, and I rs a bit (mostly at the igloo). I do Mystery Pic and Lenny C, but they really don't earn me much (the prizes usually go for 5k or less). I play the games I like for an extra 20-30k per day. I also take part in puzzle plots for the prizes (I won a Ring of the Lost from the LDP and sold it). All the little things I do add up. I need to take breaks from training my pet every now and then to save up again, though -- I don't make enough to train and buy all the weapons I want at the same time (and I don't lab... just don't like it).
Yea, Im trying to do the NQ II right now to get those prizes. Takes a week or 2 to get through. But you get prizes.
The short answer: We've been on Neo a very, very long time. It's really just a matter of committing to Neo and going all-out with whatever you're good at.

I'd suggest you simply set a goal and start working towards it. Don't shoot for a strong Pet with a 1337 set; tackle one or the other.

Exactly. I know for a fact that even if you have a slow connection, or you have slow reflexes (my personal downfall Toungue) you can still make oodles of money. Hard work is the answer. The stock market was my key to sucess. Earn 15k a day from games and invest it in the stock market. In about a month or so your portfolio is big enough to cover the cost of reinvesting on its own (by selling stock that has elevated) with enough left over to persue your goals.
Well, I'm not exactly rich, but if you add up all the np I've earned (ignoring that lost from training and falling for a simple trick on the TP) it is probably a ways over 20 million. Stocks have been the most consistent earner, aside from that getting a WOR from NQII... and just sort of longevity... hanging around along time I've earned np from all sorts of random things, like the 5 or so Icetravaganza scratchcards I've bought for 600 np and sold. Or getting an item worth over a mil in a random event.

EDIT: How could I forget?... I also used to play games in the first 2 years or so of my account.
Moving this to neopets general.

I restocked with friends to make money, good times Happy
Definitely by restocking. Learn it, and you'll love it! (well for me anyways) Toungue
Back in the days, when I was on a 56k, I played flash games like most everyone else. When I got a better connection I graduated to restocking, started upgrading my shop for malls, I was among the top auction snipers with the old system, I wiz sniped a bit before super wiz, finally got my shop to main market and making decent money there, played nq2 a bit, got into the stock market, caught a couple good investment opportunities, and now I'm down to just taking whatever I can get from my mall. As Shattered mentioned up there (to a degree) you just have to be on neo for a long time; although it may seem slow, your worth will gradually increase.
