I remember kirby all-stars for the SNES....the duel with metaknight started with the planted sword, but I always cheaped out and got the cpu buddy to kill him while I just guarded (the game's guard was ridiculous, you could hold guard continuously and every hit was nullified).
The sword animations for ssbm brawl are identical to kirby all-stars; hopefully they'll give metaknight some weaknesses
So, since Konami is on the team, what other 3rd party people is everyone thinking will be allowing characters on the game?
My top 5 3rd party people I want are:
Geno
Megaman
Zero
Shadow (Sonic would be in before him though)
Banjo (although the chances of him are like zero....too bad too since Banjo-Kazooie was my favorite N64 game...T_T )
Does Geno count as 3rd Party? It's hard to tell really...
Anyway, I'd like to see Diddy Kong in this one (because I DONT LIKE HIM), Princess Ruto and Darunia (from Zelda: OOT), some more members of the Starfox team (not Krystal >P), maybe some FF characters (Squenix might allow it... maybe), and some more Metroid characters (from Hunters, as KRaid and Ridely are a bit ridiculously huge).
YAY! There is a good chance of Megaman being in. If you go to the Japanese site, they have a list of characters they are concidering and although it is in Japanese, Megaman is clearly there in Roman letters ^^

Geno would be a second party character (Square was the developer).
Besides snake, I think sonic and megaman are the only likely additional 3rd party characters. I just want an expanded cast of fire emblem characters so that they'll be tons of diversity in weapons duels.
There's no such thing as a second party character Helios... Geno is a third party character. He's owned by Square Enix. Nintendo asked Square Enix for permission to use him for that Cameo in Superstar Saga. I think these characters have the best chance of making it in:
Mega Man (Capcom)
Pac Man (Namco)
Sonic (Sega)
Snake (Konami)
I think that Geno or Crono would round that up nicely. More than 5 would make me a bit iffy and more than 10 would really be pushing it. This is based on 50 characters for SSBB. I don't mind a few third party characters, but a vast majority should be first party.

Phoenix Wright needs to be in a SSB game evetually. Fox-style reflection with the Objections... o.O
X_o pac man, ungh....his 3d design in all of the namco pacman adventure titles is horrible....I'd rather see an ice-climbers clone
