This is something I've been raising support for on the BDC for a while, and Garet_Jaxx and XXXX agree with me- battlers should get trophies for beating the 1P opponents.

As dedicated battlers, we spend a large proportion of our time training and rasing money for weaponry. What do we get to show for it? An occaisional war trophy, and the DON trophy if you're lucky enough to get the Pant Devil.

Those who dedicate their time to mastering the flash games, however, get a trophy for each one.

I think, personally, we should have some sort of ranking system for the 1P challengers, and we recieve trophies based on that. For example (and these figures are by no means set in stone) a bronze trophy could be awarded for 50 wins, a silver for 100 wins and a gold for 200. This would give battlers a reason to keep fighting the lower-level opponents, and would also give battlers a sense of achievment when they reach these milestones.

I have submitted a requst to the NT but a new one has not been published yet.

The trophies themselves would not take long to make, as the challenger's pictures could simply have their colours edited, meaning no new artwork has to be made.

What do other 'domers think of this? The only argument against it I have recieved so far is that it would clutter lookups, but the milestones are not easy at all to reach. I personally have only earned one trophy according to the above milestones and my account is over three years old.

I have also begun creating my own, unnofficial trophies for use on my lookup, though I have halted my plans while I wait for a response from TNT over whether this is considered "fair-use" (considering the images will only be used on the neopets site itself and wont appear offsite).

I think that isn't too shabby of an idea, but here's a potential fallacy with it. (is that even correct use of the word?) TNT likes to keep things even, pretty much, so that trophies and contests can't be won by just the rich. I understand that some things definitely are based off of skillz (Kads, etc.) And with all of the opponents about, all of the rich people could garner hundreds extra trophies, which are entirely off limits to those who can't beat 'The Drenched.'

BUt the idea of a trophy for the drenched would spur gamers (espescially battlers) to keep playing. And what about the Illusen/Jhudora trophies? YOu need to be rich to be able to earn them, surely?

Well the I/J quest trophies are bad examples because all you really need is a fast connection...if you have really fast connection, it may only cost you 2k for each of the quest trophies...

Only if you get lucky. And the really rich players have all earned their money, and thus their position, correct? So, why is it a problem?

Personally I agree with this. If people are scared of "clutter" then seperate the trophies secton..add a section for bd related things (not war or don) This would encourage battlers to get better weapons and keep battling. it would also add a new spark of interest. Forums like this would explode with people wanted to improve in the battledone. it would help many neo communities all over the net as well as encouraging people to battle.

I see nothing wrong with this if it is well orginized and thought out.

The trophies could perhaps go on the pet's lookup, as they are usually quite bereft of any trophies unless the owner is very good at art (which I really am NOT).

Although I would rather have them on my main user lookup...

i think they should go on the main lookup. I've never liked the idea of trophies on a pets page. They just don't seem to fit. As i said maybe another "table" to put BD related trophies in. It would unclutter and keep everything in order

As I said, I've been raising support on the boards, so now it's open on the IDB forum hopefully more people will know about it.

If other members could perhaps tell more people on the boards, and maybe point them here, then we should be able to raise enough support that TNT listens to us...

I definately like the idea of trophies for beating 1P challengers. I also like the idea of havving them on a separate page/table from the regular lookup, (someone could potentially get a ton of 1P trophies and it would indeed look "cluttered").

I've been saying for a while that battledomers should get more rewards for winning battles, in particular 1P battles, like get np equal to the number of points that you get. This may seem like getting a ton of np, but it really isn't that much compared to the amount of time and np it takes to make a strong battledome pet.

I'm not so sure about the neopoint rewards, as people could just keep fighting inflatale balthasar and gaining NP for nothing. It'd devalue NP so much they'd be almost worthless.
