I think this is a bad idea with great intentions. I am as of yet undecided on how I view this. I think that intent vs impact, and this could go horribly wrong. I am hoping for the best though. Surely as adults we could have done this minus signing a treaty to agree to do so. My thought is that it will create more issues then help later on down the road. Either way, with the signature on the forum at sw we are surely tied to this course... no matter how the other guild members feel... or what I feel for that matter. I do wish we could have voted on this as a guild. I would have voted against it.
So, looks like it's signed rather hastily and without the agreement/input of everyone. Well, if people start bugging me and saying I'm "in the alliance", then it might be time to /leaveguild (hopefully it won't come to that)

Oh don't worry about costs, I can create it and pay for 100% if it comes down to that.
The alliance seems like a good idea to me, but I'm nowhere near a high enough level to get involved in any sort of guild-KS drama, so my opinion shouldn't particularly matter. I don't really understand why it would cause problems for anyone in TeamIDB, seeing as the treaty even says that defending your map would be a legitimate reason to KS (so why worry about people attempting to 'force' you to share a map?).
Basically, it looks like the alliance is just a way of knowing who will likely not be a total jerk to you when they show up on your map. It shouldn't change how any of us act (seeing as none of us go out of our way to be jerks to other people...right?), and its existence might very well make life easier for some of us, so we might as well support it.
So with much thought, I have left teamIDB guild. I have my reasoning, if you care to hear it, you all know where to find me, either pm or in irc. I debated and felt that the pros outweighed the cons. Spaz my guild fees were paid by someone else, I would like for you to keep them as I will reimburse that person myself. Consider it a parting gift for the fun times I have had with teamIDB. To be honest I should probably pay you more for all the good times.
Those of you who I adore and know who you are, I have made room for you on my buddy list, please add me if you desire. 3Goddess is my nick on MS. <3 TeamIDB You guys all are amazing, and I will miss the guild chat. It feels so weird to be in MS and be guildless at the same time! It is kind of cool though.
Edited to add, that in light of recent admissions and rescinding the Alliance, I am back. I hope that we continue to not be a part of it, but I appreciate the thought of a full guild vote.
I really don't think this will cause trouble for anyone. However, if you guys feel that way, I'll back out of it. I'm sorry; I should have waited for everyone's opinion before deciding. That was definitely a mistake.
Also, apparently there was discussion in #ms yesterday. However, my internet went out, so I never saw that discussion. If anyone could give me a recap of it (or a complete log...*pokes Tog*
) that would great.
