So my girlfriend just traded and got the Zafara Double Agent plushie lent to her for the avatar...

She was going to offer 1.3 mil as collat, but was told she couldn't do it. *Apparantly* there's some sort of limit on the Post where you can only offer 800k at a time, and the rest must be in items?

This makes zero sense to me, because I routinely see offers being requested in the Millions...we all know that the best weapons and such go for many millions of NP's. It would be nigh impossible to buy, say, a SoS from someone at 11M+ NP's with this limit...

So yeah. Is this just some stupid rumor that someone who knows nothing has started and some people who don't know better believe? Or is there truth to this? If so, how the hell do you guys make transactions for your H4k's and Jades?

...Ok, this is just confirmed. She tried to buy my HOD for 900k (just to test mind you, we all know the Halo isn't worth that much!) and it gave her an error saying she couldn't offer more than 800k on a trade.

So now I'm quite intrigued. Just how in the world does someone go about buying a BOD/SOS/Anything remotely good that costs over 800k?

I would imagine thwey put that there to help avoid massive scams, but any one who can earn 800K is probably not gonna fall for a scam. :/

What you could do, if you trust the person and they trust you, is bid 800K on their item, then bid the rest on a junk item (Or send them an expensive item and buy it back).

there has always been the limit. it used to b e 5 or 600k a while ago if i'm not mistaken. it's the trading post, that's why you are supposed to trade items not just buy with all pure. it's always been this way and yes it's a bit annoying but you get used to it.

if you want to buy something with all pure use the auctions as phoenix said.

When people say '1.3mill' or whatever, they normally ask for 800k pure and a few Unbuyables. In the message it also tells individuals to neomail that user should they want the item to go to the auctions.

See, I never knew this. I've never dealt with that much Nps so I just assumed when someone said '15 mil' they got 15 million through the post.

The way Neo has things set up is such a pain. You cant get more than 99,999 from your shop. You can't get more than 800k from the post. Why is it really necessary to go all the way to the freaking auction to get something really expensive? >_<

I want to think that those limits were useful or never reached when neopets was young... i remember that weapon that cost 30k was a relative expensive one.

With the new players theres more Nps on the neoeconomy and with all that money you just can put bigger prices. I've seen how nps loss value... and i just play games and just when i have free time -which today is likely sero-
