I somewhat agree in this. I think the raters that cant be on as much, need to declare they're inactive or part-time. I dont like to see ratings based on one person or forums becoming inactive.

wish we could find some people with nps being able to buy certain items and test them. or persuade others to let us know what they do~

yet I love to find instant stats when a Bd challenger comes out. IDB is one the greatest NP sites alongside Neoitems and IDNQ.
The site doesn't seem very dead to me -- it's not as busy as it used to be, no, but I can still check several times a day and find things to read, and when I've asked for advice, I've gotten it quickly. Plus, we got stats for many of those Altador weapons up on the day of their release! I do think the site could use some more raters (there are a few forum posters I see around who are very knowledgeable and would make good raters, in my opinion) and some new, more active mods (I'd volunteer for a mod position if you wanted me -- I've modded and supermodded at some very large sites before, so I have a lot of experience). And it's nice to hear there's something happening with new forum pets and other behind-the-scenes stuff.
I agree, some of the ratings for weapons are so outdated its amazing. Hire different raters, not MORE just DIFFERENT(for every you get rid of get a new one). Maybe not have a lot a REQ's, some people may be smart, but not have a fast connection, making it near impossible to get a strong pet or enough stats for the war req you had last time. The test they raters had to take was good(someone posted a link to it and I read through it Toungue) it was a good seperation between the people who wanted it for a pastime(of sorts) and who really knew something about the battledoom, and could help people and rate based on past experience AND what would be logical and smart in the long run. So basically new mods and raters and stuff XD
i'd love to see the test, it would give me an idea of how I'm growing.

And I agree, there are many ratings that need to be redone, even in the context of the low power battler that I am. Lets face it, scarab ring redefined budget and newbie fightingh. And yet there are ratings that obviously predate it on the site, next to ones that are obviously after.

I will try to find an example of an obvious before/after and post it here in an edit.

The ratings "stack" on top of each other as they're made (every new one goes "on top" of the old ones).
I actually would like the old ratings to stay. It's neat to look at them and see people talking about how much the weapons used to cost, or how they worked before the downgrades, or what they used to be commonly paired with. They have dates on them, so no one should mistake them for new info, and as long as the top comments are all up-to-date, I don't see the problem with leaving the old ratings for posterity.
I agree 100%.

I used to love these forums. I play neo on and off when i get in the mood for it... After losing all my stuff its hard to rebuild in the current state of the game. Neo has been going downhill since I started playing it like 3 years ago. Whoever owns neopets these days is obviously not concerened about the accual game but raking in the millions of dollars that its producing. I only stick around because of the battledome. Thats why I play it. Its the only part of the game thats interesting and accually has some meaning.

These forums also went down hill. I rembmer refreshing after 5 minuts and there being a new thred posted by a member with half a brain. There were great things hosted here like the original wars and even the pets on the forums were awesome. Ive never seen another forum with anything close to that. I enjoyed posting and reading others thoughts. I still enjoy reading through weapon reviews even though they are extreemly scarse.

I wish I could become a rater but my financial standings on the game as of now dont allow it... Im retraining a pet with balanced stats and its sucking every penny I make. I Cant restock or do any of that crap. My interenet is alright but to be perfectly honest I dont have the time to spend refreshing for hours trying to buy an item that I miss 95% of the time. If I can make some money through my current stock investments and get some decent stats and a set as to where I can buy new items and test them I will be more than happy to. But for now its not going to happen.

Bassicly neo is a marketing scam in my opinion with a few decent people that cling to the only good part of the game thats left... the battledome. And as these people grow tired of the game and quit playing the new brainless morons just mess up the game even further. I wish it wasnt like this but I dont see it changing. Doesnt life suck?

eh, it's better than death Mellow
Nobody realy knows that.... But anyway lets not turn this into something way off topic... But I definatly see this site dieing. Ive joined tons of forums and they always get this way before they die.... change around some stuff and redo it causing lots of the old good members to leave and then they just fade away...
