As soon as I have enough money for an H4k, they inflate to where there's no way I'll get one :cry:

doubt they will go down...they got inflated cuz they are retired and rare while many people like you try to buy them...
They inflated because of the Lost Desert Plot. Quite a few people got enough plot points for the
Ring of the Lost, which is worth around 3.5-3.9 million NP. Many of those people either wanted to trade their RotL for an H4K, or sell the ring and buy an H4K. This created increased demand, but the supply stayed the same. H4K owners capitalized on this by raising the price of the helmet, and it hasn't dropped yet and probably won't. In fact, it'll probably rise even more once war rumors start.
I sold my RotL for 3.7 mil and snapped up a
Freezing Potion for 5.5 mil. I would suggest people look into that as an alternative, as it's slightly better than the H4K, and it's a r98 and stocks in shops.
Actually, a group of people illegally inflated the H4000 Helmets. The prices will eventually go down, unless if TNT catches those people and delete the items, as stated in the Terms and Conditions. I agree with Cranberry that you should consider purchasing a Freezing Potion instead, as the supply of H4K's will never grow again in the future as the demand continuously increases.
I didn't know about the illegal inflators... I hate those people. The price increase is probably a result of both things, though. I noticed it was slowly rising just after the LDP (because countless people were asking for an H4K in their RotL wishlists... huge demand). But yeah, I'd suggest freezing potion for sure -- it freezes just like H4K and does two water icons besides, and the art is better. Of course, the price on them seems to have gone up, too; when I bought mine just after the LDP, people seemed to be asking 5.4-6 mil. Now they're all around 7 mil. I don't know if anyone's actually paying that much, however. You may be able to get a deal.
What about other Freezers? The first Golden Peophin Harp I've seen in months on the TP, the guy, Juggs... something, wants over 11 mil for it. It's an R99 but for peophins only. An example of illegal inflation perhaps?

It seems that freezing potion inflates under the influence of the H4k, always being around 1 million more in price than the H4k, so technically you could say the illegal inflators also upped the price of the freezing potion.
I'm in the same situation as megamanfan, but if what sycthos says is true about the H4k's deflating back, then maybe I will keep saving. Though I also wonder how hard it would be to rs a freezing potion. :unsure:
This really bites for those of us who depend on games for our np, the changes to the WC are another slap in the face of all honest gamers.
Got my number 6 avatar last month, took me 24-25 months to do it with moderately aggressive gameplkay. Any more aggressive and I would've gotten burned out on the games there in the first year.
I wish I could RS, just one in a while. But I've heard that abers are still rampant.

That's not illegal inflating that's just simply asking more for what an item would normally be worth simply because it's extremely rare and no others on on the TP. As far as the H4K's go I don't think that would be against the rules even if a bunch of friends got together and bought many of them up. There is nothing in the Tersm and Conditions against it.
the guy selling it, if it is juggs420, is not illegally inflating it. he is an absolute top class battler (and was the first person to ever beat NQ2), and a superstar neopian. The reality is that weapon is so rare you can just charge funny money for it. I'd argue about the supply demand thing, given two things
1) the soft ceiling on h4ks will now be = to the price of those marbles, which would be 8 mil. sure the h4k is rarer, but it would be actually inferior to the marbles. same thing with the freezing potion. over time, as tthe price per icon becomes increasingly expensive (the jump from an 18 icon weapon to a 19 icon weapon costs about 5 mil, whereas the jump from a 7 icon weapon to an 8 icon weapon is alot less), alot of battlers look for other cheaper ways to add firepower. so that might mean a sleep ray, freezing potion or this new weapon, even though its only once per battle and only 3 icons.
secondly, i wonder how many new serious battlers there are. it something that im wondering about because my mall income ha dropped, which means less new players. 6 months down the road might that mean less midlevel battlers? time will tell...
