I used 3 Purple Spotted Shrooms, 1 str, 1 hp, and 1 did nothing. I've used quite a few more before and always get good results. Usually a 75-80% success rate.

My latest attempt at increasing my defense...

Cooling Balm of the Warrior (83 trials)
Got 1 def: 3
Got 2 def: 6
Nothing: 74

That was at around 25k apiece, averaging out to 138333 NP per stat.

Just used 6 x Twisted Potion of Strength, 2 said Must have been a bad potion, the other 4 say it makes my pet feel stronger but only made him loose hp. So, result, 0 out of 6 uses

The average cost per balm was around 27k. For a total estimated cost of 4,887,000 NP, I got an average of 122,175 NP per stat. That is actually decent because it is cheaper than what I'd end up paying at the training school.

For the bomberry elixir, I didn't use as many so I'm not sure how reliable my results are (the last one I used was the only one I bought since I'd hit 699 def and it was a lucky one )

The average cost per elixir was around 30k. This gives me a total of 750k spent, and an average of 107,143 NP per stat. Originally this average was a total higher than the balms which is why I avoided it for the longest time. Like I said, the sample size is small, and I still think balms give you a better deal.
