Day 1: The New Threat
The sun began to set on the horizon, causing the sky line of Midgar to glow orange. A glare was cast against the window panes of the Shinra Building. A man, dressed in a long white jacket and black pants, stood before a wall of these blinding windows on the 60th floor of the massive building. Staring out at the city below, the man knew what was to come in the following hours.
A war had broken out in Midgar, encompassing both the Slums and Upper Plates of the city. Two days ago, a large source of energy was sensed gathering at the North Crater. Soon afterwards, people started to notice a huge meteor, the size of the moon, approach the planet. Scientists immediately knew what happened; somebody with enormous strength and power had summoned Meteor. The reasoning behind this act is still unknown, but it was a sure fact that the person who called forth this catastrophe knew what the consequences would be. Now the very existence of the world was at stake.
The man walked over to his desk, pushing the intercom button.
“Scarlet, please send in Palmer.” The man said in a quickened tone.
“Yes sir,” a woman’s voice echoed back. Moments later, a short, far man entered the spacious office.
“Ye-ye-yes sir?” The plump man quivered.
“Palmer, how close are we to the finalization of the new Space Program?” The man asked, taking a seat at the desk.
“Well…umm…Rufus- I mean sir! According to our calculations, we still need…uhh…three more weeks to complete it.” Palmer said in an unsure voice.
“Three weeks!? We don’t have that much time! Meteor is said to hit the planet within a few days! Three weeks is three weeks too long! Do you understand?” Rufus shouted, jumping out of his chair.
Palmer jerked back at Rufus’ unpleased attitude. “Yes sir, I understand. We will work harder and faster, sir!” Palmer said, making his way to the door. “But sir, if I may ask, what about out other option?”
“I’m not risking the very existence of both myself and my company on some rumor. That would be silly of me…” Rufus answered.
Again, Rufus went to the window, staring at the metropolis he owned. In an instant, he grabbed a set of keys from his desk and exited the office.

Rufus got off of his motorcycle and glared up at the bright neon sign above him. “7th Heaven.”
“I cannot believe I am here in the Slums…” He muttered, making his way inside the bad excuse for a bar.
Within the double doors, a group of 37 people were gathered. Upon Rufus’ entrance, they all shifted their attention to the man in the white jacket. Some of them looked confused, while others looked angry with the presence of this man.
“Welcome everyone. I am Rufus, the president of the Shinra Corporation, as many of you already know. It is apparent at this point that the world is in danger of destruction. This threat has forced me to make a huge decision. I am currently working on a space station, which I will use as a “safe house” from Meteor’s attack. The space station is large enough to hold a handful of people; enough to rebuild Midgar and other cities on the planet after the destruction has ensued. I have chosen you 37 as candidates for receiving the opportunity to join me to the space station. However, I cannot take all you. This is why I would like to find out who is worthy of this protection and new beginning by holding a little competition. Each night, the group will choose one person to eliminate from this ‘lottery.’ Whichever group of people makes it to the end will be given the chance to flee this destined wasteland.” Rufus paused, taking time to look around the room at the vacant stares on everyone’s faces.
“Very good then. I will meet everyone back here tomorrow night to see who you have chosen to eliminate first. Until then, good luck!” With those words, Rufus exited the bar and drove back to the Shinra Building.

Rules and Stuff

Day will end 11 pm EST (8 pm NST, and I think 4 am GMT) and Night will begin at midnight EST (9 pm NST, 5 am GMT). All lists for night should be sent in by 11 pm EST. Any late lists are subject to become void.
Voting
Every player gets one vote for the day. You CANNOT vote for Nobody or No Execution. Also, each player is expected to post and vote at least once each day. If you fail to post for two days, you will be replaced/modkilled.
To execute a player, there must be a 51% Majority. If a player receives a 75% Majority, voting will be locked and you cannot remove your votes from that person.
Materia and Shields
There will be a Materia shop involved with this game. If you wish to purchase Materia, please PM me and tell me which one you would like to buy. A person can have a maximum of FOUR Materia on hand at any point. Materia and it's uses may be discussed with other players, however, be careful who you trust.
You will gain 100 Gil for voting each day.
Each player has a shield along with their role. Shields will decrease by a certain percentage if a player is attacked. Shields do not decrease over time though.
Along with shields, each player has an Elemental Resistance. Resistances are NOT to be discussed. Resistances do not decrease, even if you are attacked.
