Maybe it'd just be based solely on pet activity itself. People who play the pet arena or whatever more gets more stuff, based on how well they level and whatnot.
EDIT: Yeah, I just thoroughly read Kage's post. The separate RPG thing. :| I still think it'd work well that way. I dunno. Maybe I'm just crazy.

oh yeah, i know some programming!
c++
qbasic
Sweet. I can finally have Kitty v2

How about posting requirement to even have a pet? Mattering a person's record they can or can't get a pet, so if they spam for a pet, they'l probs get a red bar and the red bar makes it so they can't get a pet.
Doubt that could work or be coded. >_> I dunno, I just don't want n00bs back again. They made iDB(forum) look bad before.
I'm glad pets might be coming back, but not the fact n00bs might return and spam once more.
yeah, how about 1k posts to have a pet?
No, that makes spamming more delectable Jetman.
How about, bringing in a reputation system (not the user rating, I don't like the fact it averages all votes) and once people pass a certain level of not badness, they can get a pet.
The whole reason of ditching boing was to help get rid of spamming, and activity in CCC games is going to encourage hundreds to sign up for Werewolf etc, making the games even more difficult to follow. I think a reputation system where you can either add a point or remove a point from somebody would be the best way to go. Maybe make it so you can only change a user's rep once a week or something and that moderator's have the ability to add or subtract 5, global mods can +/- 10 and admins can +/- 20 or something...
i'm having problems tracking who wants to be on the "pet committee" (the people who would help plan things related to the system and whatnot)
so if you are interested, pls PM me. I would accept anyone interested, but again, only do it if you are intersted, and actually want to put in some input and interesting ideas)
things to do: how "boings" are earned, powersets/powers/pet skills (non-battledome powers) things like that.
programming really insn't neccessary, it's just a nice thing to have so you know what "can't be done" sorta thing...i.e. no holographic images poping out of the comput3r, that can't be done
so yea, PM me if you are intersted.
Meh.. I see people using mutliple accounts to raise their reputations.. but still, I would never use the reputation system. Just because I don't like rating people. It's just not a fair way to do things.
You might want to set req. for how long you've been a member of Idb. Like atleast 1 year of activity in Idb.
OR, just give everyone a pet.... plain and simple
Reputation system is a horrible idea. That could deprive a member of pets even if he or she doesn't spam/do anything bad, just because people don't like him or her.
While the reputation system was in place (for that short time) here, I got a couple of negative ratings with the comment "you don't know who I am." Yeah.
Prerequisites are better. Like, 2000 posts. So you couldn't conceivably spam to get there without getting some serious warnage, and it gets the experienced members in.
Yay, pets are coming back!

Umm, yeah... How getting one and all would work I dunno... Maybe once you've been here long enough? Or have a certain # of trophies?
i created the forum, so if you sent me a PM, you should have access to that forum
