I found a wooden shield in the free market with 15 def and no +# next to the name (meaning no use of scrolls), did I look at it wrong or is it a real funny glitch? Or is it possible to happen? (And no its not a pan lid, esther shield, Maple shield, or a mystic shield, I know a wooden shield when I see one)

It is possible, theres a kind of NPC in every town that can give you a over perfect(like over 12 for lid) or under worst(like under 8 for lid) if you give it a ticket that can be bought in cash shop. Of course, not in our verison yet...
... noob question I know, but what's the freemarket do?
MY best guess would be that it's a hacked shield.
the free market is where users can set up there own stores (via shop coupons bought from the cash shops)
this allows them to put items in their shop and it will remain open until no items are left (thats why people put etc items which are worth nothing for a couple billion so no one will buy it)
imagine you scroll that shield...........
