What sort of thing can you get from turning in the full maps? Specifically from the space station map. And do you think it is better to sell the maps or turn them in for the prize? I know you can only turn the map in once so I'm just curious if I should turn it in and then sell the map pieces I get thereafter. Or just sell all the map pieces and never worry with turning it in once.
Alright, here's the deal. Once you convert the map once, you get working on the second map. If you convert that, that's it. You can't get pieces for a converted map, or even for a full, unconverted map.
As to the prizes...well, it varies. For the first set, they seem to range from regular codestones all the way up to Darigan Paintbrushes. The second set...well, not really sure about the full range, but the lowest I've gotten was a 100k petpet, and the highest was an Orange Paintbrush. So, take what you want from that info.
So let me try and understand that. If I were to turn in all the map pieces. I would move on to gallery two. And when I turn that one in I can no longer recieve map pieces for that gallery? But I can sell them and keep getting them to my hearts content? I will just stop getting them when I turn them both in?
yep. i had all the map peices of map 1 for the meridell gallery. i thought i'd get pieces for the second map piece like this. but it just said that my gallery is full and not converted so no pic piece was awarded
from my experience the average you receive from converting the map is more then it's worth, but you can only do this once per map. So basically if you want to be able to keep making money off a specific game, sell the pieces, if you want to get max profits now, convert the map.
On average, maps are definitely worth more if you sell them. I converted seven series one maps, and here's what I got:
Tyrannia: bearog
Meridell: purple petpet paint brush
Neopia Central: faellie
Terror Mountain: split paint brush
Faerieland: main codestone
Kreludor: silver paint brush
Krawk Island: bearog
Now, the faellie, the best prize I got, sold for 220k. The maps themselves sell for around 400k (more or less, depending on whether it's a common one like Neopia Central or a rare one like Maraqua). You do the math.
Series two maps give slightly better prizes -- I believe all the codestones have been taken away as possible prizes, and possibly the cheaper petpets, too. However, you can get any pb or any petpet pb, and many of those are worth less than 100k. So sure, you could win a darigan, faerie or grey pb, but you could also win a blue petpet pb or a checkered pb. Not worth the risk for me.
