My friends tell me to get a playstation now because I still have the ancient N64. However I know the PSX(PS3) is coming this spring. Shold I get the PS@ now or wait for the PS3 to hear opinions and judge myself? I would like to know.
If you won't have ~300 dollars for the system plus at least 35 dollars - 60 dollars for games, go ahead and get a PS2, but I personally would wait, BUT it will end up like the Xbox360, and there only be like 4 everywhere, and be hard to find. Hope this helps =)
The PS3 will likely be horribly expensive =/ If you can wait, go for a PS3 or Nintendo Revolution. If not, just get a PS2 or GCN. I'd say that PS3 will launch for $400 - $500 with Revolution at $200 - $250. I think PS2 is currently $130 in USA and GCN is $100.

I've got a GCN currently and will be buying a Revolution. Maybe PS3 as well after price drop.
I'm hoping that the revolution will retail below $200 USD....otherwise I'm gonna need to fork over a lot of CDN $$$
Revolution below 200? Psh, the GCN was at 200 at release...
PS3 is expected to be 500$ And if they are like Xbox 360, the games are going to be 60$. If you can't dish out the money then I'd say wait for the Revolution (If you are satisfied with Nintendo products) or just go ahead and get a PS2 or a GC. You could always get a Xbox 360.

And I doubt the PS3 will be the same as the Xbox 360 and only have a few at every store. Microsoft were idiots in their shipping/production stage.

Err... remember the PS2 launch? Whatever system you want, make sure to pre-order if it's next-gen. Revolution and PS3 will both sell out at launch. The only recent major hardware launch I can think of that wasn't incredibly rare would be the PSP.
