Certainly an unexpected ending to the newest battle you've posted. I couldn't (yesterday when reading it) get round by round screenies to come up (looked like first round link was provided but didn't work), though the final round did. This maybe my wonderful comp, which seems to work on alternative days at times it chooses, in the manner it would like to, and to take holidays, weekends, sick days, and like off without notice. Anyway, this remains an intersting and enlightning series. I wonder if you could find someone near half as descriptive and knowledgeable as yourself to write their views of what they're seeing in your set and moves, and what they're thinking as a companion to your analysis. The current format, while a fine addition, requires you to guess what the opponent is thinking, or why they've done what they have. It might be even more fascinating to have a two-person view, as it were, of the same fight, so that the reader could really understand the thought process from both sides with certainty. I for one, would love to really KNOW why the healer never appeared in the last battle. Was it a miscalculation (bad move), or did it not exist, at which point going 10 rounds with your pet and against a master battler such as yourself and gaining a draw was a very good result, given the limitations of not having a healer. Just a thought, but by all means, I hope you'll continue the series

I'll answer VermontHermit's question:

I didn't have a healer at the moment because I was a snot buzz, so even though I had the 20% air defense the no healer part forced me to play more defensively than I usually do. I think the turning point of the battle was on Round 6 and 7 right after he flashed his carrotblade at me. At this point I wanted to use my earth reflector, especially since most people see that I missed using my reflector, then automatically assume I wouldn't be as dumb as to use it again, feeling safe enough to use their blade. Unfourtunatly for me sirhatter doesn't act that way, which I verified in our third battle, which I lost.

Anyways, back on track, on Round 7, I was pressured to even out the HP difference since he now had twice my HP. Thus, round 8 I launched my PCC, fairly confident that he wouldn't try to take me out that move after seeing me use my reflector twice in a row. Round 9 I was definitely pleased, although I would have been even happier if I had ended it with g-bomb + UDS + berserk

Round 10 was interesting, I thought he was reading my messages to him beforehand, so I was hoping to make him overthink a bit about using/not using clawed shield, forgetting what little HP I had left...All in all, I'd have to say he definitely got the better of me in that battle, although we ended in a draw...The reason I didn't use regeneration on the "last move" was because I was expecting him to use clawed shield + g-shield, afterwhich I'd use g-shield + pcc + burrow...too bad things didn't go the way I wanted Anyways, we should have our 4th battle sometime since the score is currently 1 draw, 1 win, 1 loss

Definitely interesting to read the battles from Dan's organized point of view rather than rantings... I'll help you make pretty boxes if you want Dan where you can fill in pre-battle info. I like this latest concept ;P Stick with it.

That was pretty much an utter defeat for me! Your skill at figuring out what your opponents will use is a powerful obstacle to overcome. I think next time I'll need to let my sister pick which weapons I use to insert a bit of randomness into the equation!
