In the endgame there are very few species specific items that compare to a SaP and an Illusen's wand...
but not everybody is going to get that far.
And even if you do, there's a species specific freezing item, and atleast one good healer...
All in all, I just have to ask, what spcies do YOU recomend for the battledome, and why?
I would recomend the kacheek since it has the kacheek life potion which heals a lot with some pretty good and cheap 7 iconers. However the best species depends on your budget and your eventual goal...ie how far you want and can get to. for some, a lupe is ideal since there is the ancient lupe wand which is a cheap 100% freeze. IMO, just lab until yuo get a really good looking pet and then stay with that pet and train while using normal weapons, or keep labbing until you hit one of the good species...kacheek, lupe, gelert, elephante...and I think there a few new ones but those have species items that cost 2 mil ish for the same effect.
It's going to depend on how strong your pet is....
If you're just beginning, the kau is the best. Kau Knight Helmet is a good weapon to start off, plus 10% resistance on all except dark icons is good.
If you're at around intermediate (50+ stats) or advanced (100+ stats), use either Kacheek, Gelert or Elephante. Their own species healing will help out.
I recommend the lenny because it has a good healer but the problem with it is hat its to expencive and they have 2 100% freezers but you would need quite a few million to get both the items but that is in my opinion the best species for the battledome.
I agree with Da_bomb - while gelerts, elephantes and gelerts have cheap species healers, they don't have 100% freezers and they don't look anywhere near as cool as lennies

well there are 2 100% freezers for lennys but regardless, you can only equip 1 freezer at a time so there is really no extra advantage to having 2 species freezers
also since I believe the ELL is over 1.5 mil, it "might" be hard to afford for some people and therefore, getting a lupe with a 20?k freezer would be better.
I know that a person can only equip 1 freezer to a pet I was just pointing out that lennies have 2 freezers. Back on topic now and another good speices for the battledome is the lupe a good specie ability 2 100% freezers and a good weapon that is awsome.
Lenny 100% Freezer and I think it's a 50% Healer
If you already have a 100% freezer and face g-swords and other mass air weapons i would choose a Pteri because they have the best speices resistance 40% resistance to Air
Pteris also are cured of any disease with food with the word "worm" in it(e.g. Rotten Wormy Apple).
There really is no absolute best, and the advantages become less meaningful with an increased budget. If you're short on NP and your pet has more than about 100 HP max, a Kacheek, Gelert, or Elephante would be best due to their easily obtained healers. However, for a pet that doesn't have that high of a maximum HP, a
Greater Healing Scroll would provide nearly the same functionality to any species.
