Just look at the subject. Yes, I know I'm a bit late to the party, as the saying goes, but that's besides the point. I finally bothered playing Halo, and I have to say I was unimpressed. It has a decent single player, I suppose, nice plot, what have you. But the multiplayer was fantastically dull, and it was my understanding MP was supposed to be the main draw.
So, is there some specific facet of the multiplayer I just haven't experienced yet, perhaps? Or maybe its that people have moved on to Halo 2?
Or, is it, as I've rather suspected all along, that Halo was just overhyped?
The multiplayer thing. If you where just playing split screen that is very dull
But Halo for ps (Online) OR Halo 2 on xbox live is another thing. They are not the same thing as what you have played =P
Eh, I'm with you when you suspected it was overhyped. My little brother wants and X-box just for the one game, but I've played on live and didn't like it that much..I think Ratchet and Clank online is better.
Yeah, I should have mentioned, I was playing the PC version. I refuse to buy an X-Box, simply on the principle that MS gets enough of my money already, thank you very much.
I mean, honestly, the MP mode wasn't that different from Tribes 2...except, you know, worse, what with the weapon and vehicle limitations, and the single armour type.
meh. Think of when Halo came out, though. One of the earlier Online multiplayer games that wasn't on the PC, and a Decent game behind that. It was great. Personally, I think it's said to be much better than it really is, byut it's still a fun game.
I think the main reason the multiplayer in Halo is so popular is because it's balanced. You can run and get the Rocket Launcher, but a guy with an SMG can still destroy you. XBox Live is a lot cooler than the PC multiplayer because XBox Live let's you talk and makes it feel like you're more of a part of the game. One last thing is that Halo has a lot of realism to it with the great graphics and the good physics. Halo is a quite basic game, but it is one of the few good FPSs on the XBox and it has my favorite multiplayer out of all games.
Thought-Fully, PC Multiplayer would be better... It has a microphone too but you get to use a Keyboard + Mouse >_>;;
