Basically, two 12-year-olds get transported to alternate realities of their shopping-place-town-thing. Each one has a theme. The first is an RPG, the second sci-fi, etc. In each one, they eventually are able to find something that is supposed to take them back to the real world, only to reach another alternate reality.

I feel FMA is vastly overrated. Decent perhaps, but best anime ever? Unless of course, you personally feel very strongly about the series, in which case I'm not about to argue with your rating. Everyone has their favourites, after all, and some are just unjustifiable. =3 But mediocre art (character designs are meh), overused jokes (can only watch so many post-short Ed explosions before it gets tiresome), a tendency for the series to pander to the fangirls (...) and a decidedly rushed & strange ending add up to an above average series, in my opinion.

I realize that I'm in the minority when it comes to my opinion of FMA. Had I posted the above anywhere else, chances are I'd get lynched by said fangirls.

Elfen Lied I've been repeatedly told is an acquired taste, so I won't question that rating despite my reservations toward its graphic content. Samurai Champloo, Scrapped Princess and Spirited Away I feel are complete trash though.

On the other hand, Full Metal Panic I rate much, much higher. Fumoffu was one of the most hilarious series I have ever watched. The love triangle did get on my nerves, but the rest of the show generally made up for it. (Not like there is any real replacement for a good romance, mind you!) Slayers deserves more credit, and I'd like to know just why you rate Advent Children so poorly, seeing as while overrated, it was still a decent wrap-up to the game, and the animation was gorgeous.

Let's go backwards. Advent Children: I admit I haven't played FFVII, except a demo and little bit and a friend's house. But in the movie...basically almost nothing happens in the whole thing.

Slayers: Would have been rated higher if it had kept being funny...it went serious at some point. I'm seeing an unfortunate trend of comedies going serious halfway through the series.

FMP: The love triangle was the only thing that made it interesting for me. It got a little boring by about 2/3 of the way through. Apparently Fumoffu is a different series from the one I saw, which was just plain Full Metal Panic.

FMA...I'd disagree about the art, and I consider the short-jokes no more than comic relief. Nothing I've seen except GitS:SAC and parts of Abenobashi even comes close.
