Random thoughts on a bunch of anime I've watched in the past week. Analyze the shows, comment on my comments, criticize my taste, ignore everything, whatever :3
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: I think three episodes are out right now. It seems to be a fairly standard romance, with the quirk that the main female lead is into anime. It's alright, but I got ticked off when it turns out that they knew each other in the past. That happens in every single show like this, I swear. And the male lead is probably a repressed otaku or something, because he saved the female lead from her depression in said past by giving her a manga magazine.
;; but I'll keep watching it because I enjoy nearly all romances.
Clannad + TomoyaxTomoyo OVA: I'ma get one thing out of my system first- I majorly love this show and Kanon and AIR and Planetarian and related stuff. Pretend that that was all in one breath, or whatever the internet equivalent is. Anyways, pretty art, cried at Fuko disappearing (going to go import the game just so I can get some resolution to her story, heh), wanted TomoyaxTomoyo in the beginning but then 23 episodes of TomoyaxNagisa kinda influenced me... I feel like I'd betray them if I picked one over the other, lol, so I'm going to say that I like both pairings equally. Actually, I think I'll go with the Tenchi Solution! Yes, definitely. Nobody should be unhappy
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru: average. Meh. Not too much to say, other than that once I convinced myself that the blatant overuse of shoujo CG was a deliberate lampshading/parody, I enjoyed it a lot more. Also, this series is fairly unique in that I was actually wrong in predicting the main love interest. For a series that was so trope-ridden, that was a major achievement. Ending sucked, was a typical sequel-opportunity one.
Shakugan no Shana I + II: Me likey. I'm a bit of a drama hog, so even the horribly lengthy swathes of flashback and drama (I'm looking at you, early-mid II) didn't put me off. Fights were well-done, and I'm looking forward to the third. The graphic novels aren't that far ahead, so I suppose I'll have to wait a bit. Eagerly anticipating comatose Kazumi. Also, I love Kugimiya Rie's voice, so hah.
Zero no Tsukaima I + II + III: omg fanservice. Lives on UST. That's all I'll say (but Kugimiya Rie is still pretty good).
Hayate no Gotoku: Continuing on the Kugimiya Rie roll, a comedy rich in shout-outs and metahumour. On episode 20-ish right now, and still liking it. Actually has a semblance of a plot as well, which serves to draw me further in.

To belive in reincarnatior that way, was he insane?
), mind you, but romance is always good. =3 I am running off at the first sign of harem hijinks though, the fear of which put me off picking up the show till a friend bugged me into it. The OP is a bad omen, really. And loser males leads are off-putting.
Not going to bother saying anything negative here. Just that Fuko was one of the most annoying characters ever, and that playing the game has a tendency of making you ship TomoyaxNagisa (based on my own experience and that of others I've spoken to). Which is why I get infuriated when people slam the choice of end girl for the anime, especially the Kyou fanboys (her character in the game is just... bleh).
