Do you purchase the original japanese releases or other variants (country, language, bundle/content size, etc...)?
All my dvds are US Region 1 official english releases. I'm not certain how they will all fair say 10-20 years down the line when dvds could possibly be made obsolete - but I'd guess that the optical circular disk format will still be used and whatever becomes the norm will have backwards compatibility with its players (The transition from VHS to DVD obviously couldn't do it unless you bought a dual-player). I'll just have to stock a really nice brand new dvd player for such an occasion.

And my personal verdict is that everything looks incredible, character designs (Shinji almost reaches bishie status *gasp* character still as painful to watch as ever though) etc. even the angels (heck, especially the angels!).

Entertaining, but in the trainwreck sort of way.
