It's confirmed there will be no voice chat. DS can't handle both at the same time and because of Halo 2 syndrome where you see 12 year olds saying the f-word as every other word.
I've already been planning on getting the game right at it's released date. I was hoping it was going to be voice-chat, but I guess that will in a way make it better so you don't have a bunch of annoying people cussing all the time.
When everyone gets it why don't we all post screen-names as well to add to our small buddy lists :D
They'll be handling screen-names differently, each DS has a unique code we give each other, our screen name can be whatever we want and people can have the same name as you. It'll be kinda like MSN where you add people by their e-mail, but their nickname can be whatever they want. I'll of course be using Firestorm =) I'll start a topic up for DS Wi-Fi Contact Topic when the game's released =)
do you think there will be problems with my ds? =/ its american, and im wondering if it will still be able to connect to the internet in england, or will i just need to import an american version?

in n64, there are no character weapons, one character per kart and same weaps for all players

1. You could jump off the stage and keep driving. This allowed for more shortcuts to be found, like in Wario Stadium and Rainbow Road. I am hoping this is back in the DS version, you couldn't do it in Double Dash, you died right away.
2. You could hit a banana, then hold B for a second to cancel the spin-out, I think this is back and that you can cancel another few attacks as well.
3. There were no specials so Toad isn't as broken as he is in Double Dash...
4. You could hop. It's what you had to do before doing a power slide.
5. Slip-streaming or whatever. If you go behind another kart, they will block some of the wind resistance for you and you'll get a boost in speed.

I really found Double Dash to be a boring Mario Kart =/

Yeah, beat Nitro Cup Mirror Mode 150cc. I unlocked everything except staff ghosts and name stars.
Finally got the game today and it's great!
Too bad I am going to be sending my DS in to get a stuck pixil fixed (warrenty's about up so it's now or never). I'll post my friend code once I get the DS back
how'd the pixel problem occur?
