Wow... ^^^ reminder of why I hated high school and it's immaturity.

P.S. Referring to the "girls" forementioned.
People dislike geeks because they know the geeks are smarter than them. And so instead of accepting their place i life, or trying to wroder harder at becoming like them, they try to show the geeks that they are better than them in other ways.
I dislike the "geeks" at my school. I'm smart, but noone thinks of me as a geek. I personally don't hate them for being geeks. I hate the ones at my school for being annoying tw... its. Yes. Twits. SOme ahte them for being geeks, but I don't. :)
geek:

"The people you pick on in high school and wind up working for as an adult"

Ah how I love urban dictionary....

But seriously in my school there arent realy "geeks". There are people who are smart and there are people who cant close one eye and count out loud to the number 3 at the same time. There are a bunch of different groups of freinds no matter what you like. It varries from place to place in my opionion.

It doesn't always stop in high school either. I know many girls like that that are in their twenties. <_<
I think I'm a partial geek, and I really don't care. Confidence is a great thing. ;)
I'm a geek, I suppose. Then again, almost my whole school is comprised of geeks(it's a science and tech high school...what can you expect?). One thing I've learned about bullies is that they're just cowards who want to pick on the easiest prey they can find. If they hit you, hit back harder once, and they'll leave you alone. If they call you names instead, just ignore them, or find a few choice phrases to throw back at them (non-swearing ones, though. Just because they're idiots doesn't mean you have to tone down your vocabulary to match theirs).
I from a school which many outside people consider as geeky =( Yet it it also commonly thought of as the second best boys school in the country.

I know who The Applehat is (he's from my school also, I know who he is, but he doesn't know who I am :P). Take him for an example. His socks are not low(which seems to be the trend) and he wears spectacles. So he's a geek? Not at all. I been using his classmates to find out more about his under utmost secrecy, so I know.

It seems that the "geek"/"nerd" stereotyping occurs only in the best schools. Why? Because of the simple reason that lousy schools vastly outnumber the good schools.

B) <--- To this dude; black sunglasses are quite outdated already. -__-
i'm a parasite, what about you?
I'm a proud geek.

I can get my closest friends to back me up on that... which is essentially only 7 people, but whatever ^^

I'm also respected, because... let's say I got 'good' grades (except for last year, in which I got an average of 89% <_<) and I'm slightly physically active;; actually I can only sprint. However, I can sprint faster than anyone else in the school, I just can't keep it up for more than 300 yards. (Which happens to be my best dash, by the way)

I'm also happily taking enriched curriculum... unfortunately it isn't that enriched. I'm the best in my school at spelling and I have won the Science Fair held at our school last year, via my trusty Rube Goldberg machine which pours water into a cup. I am also able to skip beginning German, Latin, French, Greek, and Spanish classes (if I choose to pursue them) in highschool, take advanced calculus in my 2nd year and beyond, and go to Biola University for English needs. [/speech]

There are a few people out there who really hate me though because I have ADHD and stutter a tiny bit.

So being a geek is teh cool ^_^
I'm in an enriched program... Although I hear more "How the *censored* did you get into Enriched?" than "GEEK!" >_>;; My enriched class actually has a lot of sporty people, one girl's the fastest runner in the school (better than the guys even). And half of us don't study ._.;; Then there are those on the Principal's List (Straight As) that are still some of the most popular in school. So our school doesn't really have a big problem with "geeks vs jocks" although that might come from being a mostly Asian populated school.

note: Enriched = Honours/Accelerated, whatever.
Alright, I stumbled onto this Geek test a while back, kind of interesting:
http://www.innergeek.us/

It's been a while, but I believe I scored around... 27% - Total Geek.
Another friend of mine took it, and she got around .07% - Poser. (I think)
It's a long test, but kind of interesting, might want to give it around 20 minutes if you try it.
